The death of Abel Mutua’s brother Raphael Musyoka is now shrouded in controversy as accusations and counter-accusations fly around.
Abel has been accused of neglecting his brother while he was alive only to ask his fans to raise money to cater for the deceased’s burial following his demise.
City politician Alinur Mohamed, without naming names, strongly criticised ‘someone’ for not being there for his brother when he was alive.
“If you were not there for your brother when he was alive, there is no need to be there for him when he is dead,” Alinur Mohamed wrote on his Facebook account on December 31, 2023.
Abel Mutua in a statement on Twitter vowed to tell the whole truth about what happened to his late brother after his burial.
“Thank you so much Wakurugenzi for the love that you’re sending our way. A good number of you know the truth and you have stood with us since my brother became ill. I’ll tell Rapho’s story because I know it’ll save someone and his death won’t be in vain. See you after the burial,” Abel Mutua wrote.

Abel Mutua’s other brother Jesse Mwethuku aka Luku Baridi confessed that he indeed assaulted his late brother Raphael Musyoka multiple times.
Jesse was accused of shedding crocodile tears while he was mourning the death of his brother.
“Rest in peace brother….it was a pleasure!!!” Jesse Lukubaridii wrote.

All the punches, unnecessary roughing up… hungry & cold nights… One way or another, they led us to where we are. Raphael looked up to you; he always spoke admirably about you, especially in high school. But in the last few years, the narrative changed. You became the boogeyman. I say this because it’s the truth, and I will live by it,” Njoroge_wa_njuhi told off Jesse
Jesse later issued a statement explaining his side of the story while admitting to having gone physical on his younger brother as a way of disciplining him.
“I knew one day I was gonna trend but never in my wildest dreams did it occur to me that would happen such a time I’m mourning the loss of my brother as being the reason why he’s no more, I know it’s bad timing but for my peace of mind, I want to address just one aspect that has been leveled against me as an individual which was violence towards my brother. So my kid brother had the opportunity to live a very comfortable life with Abel at his house but he chose to live a basic life with me since my dad is a retired civil servant who relocated to ushago,” Jesse wrote in part.
Jesse claimed that the deceased got depressed after things failed to work out as expected, adding that his kid brother started using drugs.
Jesse added that he tried to help his brother by taking him to the hospital and convincing him to join rehab but he refused.
Jesse revealed that he first beat up his late brother in 2020 after the deceased arm-twisted their father who was trying to stop him from using drugs.
