Abbie Chatfield has warned her fans to be careful when using the word ‘women’.

The Bachelor star, 28, claimed on a recent episode of her It’s A Lot podcast that using the word “women” is offensive because it dehumanizes women and excludes transgender people.

‘It feels like a blemish. It feels like the word b**tch. it feels…obviously sexist,” Abbie explained.

“It feels strangely transphobic because it categorizes people. “Also, when you say ‘women,’ it sounds more like someone is saying a fact about a group of people,” she continued.

Abbie said that when the word “woman” is used, it allows for more “debate” about what it means to be “woman.”

Is the term ‘feminine’ offensive?

She went on to explain how the word “female” sounds archaic because it implies that women are like animals that need a male to take care of them.

“They say ‘feminine’ in a way to remind us that we (women) cannot change our natural instincts and that we cannot change what we actually want – which is a protective big man to take care of us,” she said.

When asked if it was offensive for a woman to use the word “feminine,” Abbie said it “feels like it’s internalized misogynistic.”

In her caption, Abbie admitted that the word “slur” might be “too harsh” to describe the word “feminine,” but she doubled down on her argument that the term “annoys her” for good reason.

“It could be because it’s used by incels (involuntarily celibate people) and misogynists as a whole,” she speculated.

“It feels strangely transphobic because it categorizes people. Also, when you say 'women,' it sounds more like someone is saying a fact about a group of people,

Abbie’s fans were quick to weigh in on the debate in the comments section, with many saying they agreed the term is derogatory.

‘Absolute. My body literally tenses when I hear men using it like this,” one user wrote, as someone else agreed: “Yes, it is dehumanizing and women shouldn’t use it either.”

“When (men) use ‘females’ it feels like a way to strip us down to just our reproductive parts and devalue both us and trans people because 1) it tells us that this is all we are to them and 2) it tells trans women they are not women because they don’t have those reproductive organs. It feels like a double whammy of disrespect and contempt,” someone else argued.

However, there were many fans who disagreed with the sentiment.

‘You are joking. Are you really trying to sound ‘turned on’ or something? Females are women, and females are girls. It’s the same haha, my god,” one person wrote.

‘We are females. Women, women, all the same. This is petty,” another added.
