Abbey admitted that her thoughts always go to the worst-case scenario, and in January she visited a doctor after simply wearing jeans that were too tight, causing her legs to go numb.

She worried and googled her symptoms, leading her to believe she had Multiple Sclerosis, which made her anxious.

According to the NHS, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of possible symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movements, sensation or balance.

But since the accident, Abbey, who was told she didn’t have MS, booked herself into a hypnotherapist who helped her with her anxiety and she said ‘it worked’.

She told MailOnline: ‘I really suffer from health anxiety, and the worst thing you can do is Google symptoms.

“It’s something I do all the time, and I’ve had to train myself out of it.

‘I sometimes scare myself with self-diagnosis, which I don’t recommend to anyone.

“But this is something I’ve been working on, and I’ve tried hypnotherapy for it, and it works. It functions.’

“To just change your thought process. I catastrophize everything. I’m just a big worryer.’

She added: ‘So I always assume the worst-case scenario and am not completely rational when it comes to… “Oh, could this be this, or this is going to happen.”

“It’s a terrible thing to have, but it’s something I deal with, and I’ve talked about it before on our podcast.”

Abbey explained that she believes the world is experiencing an “anxiety pandemic” and hopes to talk to doctors on Exhibit A to give people tools to get through everyday life and stress.

She revealed that hypnotherapy has changed her way of thinking, but admitted that the process takes practice.

She said: ‘I haven’t been diagnosed with it. I know the signals myself.

“It’s really just retraining your brain to think in a different way. And it works and it takes practice.

“It’s just simple things that you can change in your daily life and it helps with all that stuff.”

Abbey has discussed her worries with her husband, Peter Crouch, 42, on her Newlyweds podcast. The football legend admitted his wife was ‘taking on everyone’s problems’ and wishes she would take a step back.

The former Liverpool striker told their listeners: ‘Health anxiety is a thing, she has a problem with that, I’d like Abs to worry less.’

“It feels like she’s taking on everyone’s problems. That’s fun, but it takes its toll.’

Health anxiety, or hypochondria, is when you constantly worry about being sick or getting sick – so much so that it starts to take over your life.

Symptoms include checking your body regularly for signs of illness and obsessively looking at health information on the Internet.

But despite her long battle with anxiety, Abbey is still a woman on a mission as she embarks on her next career.

She invites everyone from doctors and CEOs to Hollywood legends to join her for a serious conversation about life and business on her podcast.

She hopes to share their life stories to discover their secrets of success and learn a few life lessons from people who are shaping today’s society.

Listeners can expect not only motivation, but also actionable insights.

Whether it’s strategies for overcoming adversity, personal development tips, or simply the inspiration to pursue their passions, there’s something for everyone.

Abbey even told MailOnline that the show is not without drama. In one episode she wondered if it could be broadcast because there was so much crying.

She said: ‘There’s definitely something for everyone.

“It’s a podcast for men and women who feel like they want to learn and be motivated, inspired, educated and just really interesting stories.

“You know, some of them, I was sobbing the whole interview, and it’s like, ‘Oh my God, can I even put this out?’

“You feel like everyone has had the same life and upbringing as you, and when you see some people you think, how on earth are you the best at the game and paving the way for other people and being a part of the world we live in? today, when you’ve had that horrible start in your life, like, how did you even survive?

‘You know, some survival stories were just mega. And I think for anyone looking for help, how to get out of rock bottom… some of the guys we’ve had are just perfect for that.”

Abbey released her new podcast on April 22, 2024 and will interview a range of fascinating guests with inspiring life experiences.
