“A veil of gossamer clouds” is a quest Dragon dogma 2 which takes you from Vernworth to Bakbattahl and back. Shortly after Captain Brant explains that the next step in your journey is to take you to Battahl (at the end of the quest “Feast of Deception”), a guy named Mosse will approach you. He lets you know that Sven wants to meet you.
Sven, if you remember, is the son of Queen Disa who you met in ‘Disa’s Plot’ and ‘Ornate Box’. You just have to meet him in his room to get the quest started.

Where can you find Sven in Vernworth Palace?
The very first step in ‘A Veil of Gossamer Clouds’ can be tricky, because all you know is that Sven wants to talk to you in his room and that he won’t appear if you haven’t ventured into the nursery before. on your card. Sven’s Chambers are located down the hall from Disa’s Chambers.

This is where you found the torn note during the “Disa’s Plot” quest and in the opposite corner of Allard’s Chambers that you visited during the “An Unsettling Encounter” quest.
The quickest way is to enter the palace through the main entrance, turn immediately left and go up the stairs straight in front of you. Go up the next staircase and follow the corridor to the end. Sven’s room is on your right.

Sven is waiting for you inside. He will reveal that he has found a letter from Disa to Phaesus and asks you to investigate. You have no further indications, but it turns out that you have to go to Bakbattahl. You can take this letter to Magistrate Waldahr, who will be in Vernworth Prison or in the library of books under the slums to discover this information, but it is completely optional and can be skipped by going straight to the capital of Battahl to go.
How to Examine Letter Intent in ‘A Veil of Gossamer Clouds’
Joining Battahl is a process in itself. You can get there via a return route or by completing the main story quest ‘Nation of the Lambent Flame’. “A Veil of Gossamer Clouds” is not a timed quest, and you can get to the capital of Battahl on your own time.

When you get there, go to the Flamebearer Palace. This is, as the name suggests, at the end of Flamebearer Palace Road, marked on the map.
Once in the Hall of Prayer, take the path in the northwest corner that leads down. Don’t linger too long or the guards will become suspicious and you may be arrested. If this happens, just break the crates in your cell and you will find a makeshift prison key to escape. Go get your stuff back and try again.

Follow the spiral staircase down and you will eventually arrive in a room with a defeated dragon in the middle. Walk past it and a cutscene will start in which you overhear a conversation between Yglie and Jerome about a delivery from Vermund. After they’re done talking, you’ll want to find Laboratory Workshop #2, the second room to the right of the dragon as you look at it from the spiral staircase.

The letter to Lord Phaesus will be on a table in the center of the room. Grab it, then all you have to do is return to Sven in his chambers. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend setting up a portcrystal in Bakbattahl, as there isn’t a permanent one here and otherwise it’s a chore to travel back.
Return the letter to Sven and you’ll complete ‘A Veil of Gossamer Clouds’, cross-linking yourself 20,000 gold and a spring stone.
