50 Cent postpones Arizona show due to EXTREME HEAT: '116 degrees is dangerous for everyone'

50 Cent has postponed his Phoenix, Arizona show after learning ‘dangerous’ temperatures would be afflicting the area. 

The rapper, 48, announced his August 28 show had been pushed back after an excessive heat warning went into effect and forecast a high of 116 degrees.

50 – born Curtis James Jackson III – broke the news to fans via Instagram on Monday, along with fiery photos from his show and a weather alert. 

‘Due to extreme heat, the show tomorrow in Phoenix, AZ is being postponed. For anyone who would like a refund, please go to point of purchase for instructions. I’ll be back in Arizona soon! 116 degrees is dangerous for everyone (shrug emoji). #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi @thefinallaptour,’ he captioned the post.

The show was set to occur at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix and was the latest stop in his Final Lap tour.

The heat warning will be in effect until Wednesday night, according to AZ Central. 

Fans took to the comments to vent over the cancellation, with one posting: ‘not me taking the day off for this.’

‘116 degrees is nothing to us in Arizona,’ another wrote.

‘Please don’t forget about us here in AZ! We can’t miss the FINAL LAP!!!’ one posted.

‘HE LITERALLY WROTE A SONG CALLED HEAT,’ one fan pointed out.

The rapper has been performing practically non-stop as part of his Final Lap tour, and will next be hitting the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Wednesday. 

The international leg of his tour will begin September 28 in Amsterdam, with dates scheduled for Hamburg, Germany, Copenhagen, Denmark, and more.

The acclaimed rapper is the voice behind the legendary tracks In da Club and p.i.m.p and in 2022 performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside fellow icons Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamaar, and Anderson .Paak.

Outside of music, 50 Cent has also gone into television. 

The rapper has been a creative force behind a number of popular shows like the Starz series Power, and its many related chapters.

He also appeared in two seasons of For Life, a crime drama that ran on ABC beginning in 2020.

The artist will also be developing a new film and TV show with fellow rap icon Eminem.

During an interview with Big Boy TV, 50 Cent said a main reason he wanted to make the show was to make sure young kids new about Eminem’s roots and his impact.

‘I wanna bring, I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,’ he said. ‘It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100. I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.’

He continued, ‘I think it should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see… it’s important to me that they understand it, you know what I mean?’
