A four year old Thai boy imitated a fight scene from a movie by throwing scissors at his 10 year old sister, causing serious head injury. Fortunately, the girl is now in stable condition and under the care of doctors at a hospital in the Isaan province of Buriram.

The 10 year old victim, Face, was rushed to the Satuek Hospital on March 23 to remove the scissors that pierced her head. The scissors were penetrated about an inch deep into her head.

Unfortunately, Satuek Hospital lacked the necessary tools for the operation and transferred Face to Buriram Hospital instead.

DailyNews reported that the scissors pierced close to a nerve but had not struck any vital organs. The doctors successfully removed the scissors, and Face is now safe. She will remain in hospital for another two days before returning home.

A 16-year-old witness, Yui, informed Sanook that the four year old boy named Nui threw scissors at Face. Yui explained that Nui was playing with the scissors, prompting her to tell Face to keep her distance to avoid potential harm.

Yui recounted that Nui reacted angrily upon hearing her warning and promptly hurled the scissors at Face. She believed that Nui’s actions were impulsive and might have been influenced by a movie fight scene.

The girl’s grandfather, 50 year old Jaroon, told Sanook that Face was playing with her siblings and cousins outside their home when the incident occurred. He did not witness the attack and only learned about it when he heard Face crying.

A similar incident occurred to a 14 year old boy in the Isaan province of Nakhon Ratchasima in November last year. A fishing dart, about 30 centimetres long, pierced his forehead while fishing with his friends. It was not clear whether the boy shot himself, or a friend accidentally fired the dart at him.

The doctor managed to remove the dart, but the boy had to be under the doctor’s supervision as the dart was unclean and could pose infection or complications. There have been no updates on his condition following treatment.
