Political activist Kasmuel McOure has found himself under fire, with many accusing him of being a sellout. The criticism began after he failed to defend fellow activist Morara Kebaso following his attack at the Bomas of Kenya.
Secondly, Kasmuel McOure, who was escorted to the venue by the police while Morara Kebaso was being heckled in a suspected setup attack by goons, took the stage immediately after the violent incident.
And instead of condemning the attack, he shifted his focus directly to politics.
Standing beside Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang, who looked on with a proud smile, McOure passionately called for the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“Gachagua must go! Ndio tumalize ukabila Kenya, ndio tumalize shareholders, ndio tumalize siasa ya kuchanganya watu!” he exclaimed.
Many in the crowd felt disappointed, hoping he would first address the brutal attack instead of jumping into political issues.
His silence on the violence raised questions about whether he was more interested in pleasing politicians like Kajwang than supporting fellow activists, leading to accusations of selling out.
Thirdly, photos of Kasmuel McOure with South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, who backed the finance bill, have surfaced online. Critics argue this shows McOure cozying up to the very political class he once opposed, suggesting he has become too comfortable among them.

Morara has strongly denied the accusations of being “bought,” tweeting, “If I ever sell my integrity, I’ll be the first to make it known. If you have proof of the little I’ve received, table it.”
He argued that the claims reflect people’s discomfort with his causes rather than his character: “You don’t support me for who I am, but because it’s inconvenient for who you’re against.”
In response to threats of being de-platformed, he said, “Why would anyone threaten me with de-platforming? The real challenge is deplatforming me from your mothers’ hearts.”
