2 killed during midday shootings inside NYC apartment building: NYPD

Two men were gunned down in the middle of the day inside a Bronx apartment building, police said Tuesday.

The gunfire erupted inside an apartment building on Rev. James A. Polite Avenue near East 163rd Street around 12 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Cops first found a 28-year-old man bleeding in the second-floor hallway with a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived, according to the NYPD.

The second man, age 32, was later discovered inside a fifth-floor apartment cops said. He was also shot in the head.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene but the two men could not be saved, according to police. 

It was unclear if the victims knew each other. Their names were not released pending family notification.

Police said FDNY responders treated a third victim, but police had not spoken to that person as of Tuesday afternoon.
