West Edmonton Mall said the lockdown affecting everyone in the mall was lifted shortly after 3 p.m., less than 30 minutes after it began.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the mall urged shoppers to stay at the “nearest safe location until the lockdown is lifted,” according to a social media post on Saturday.
The post also urged mall visitors to continue to monitor social media for further updates.
