The emergence of Wesley White in England is noteworthy, especially given his familial ties to Jake White, the renowned coach who led South Africa to victory in the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Wesley White’s rugby journey began at Bishops College in Cape Town, where he showcased his talent as a flank for the school’s 1st XV in 2013. During this time, he even played for the Western Province U18 team against Montpellier’s junior team.
Post-school, in 2014, he relocated to Durban, transitioning to the hooker position while playing for the Sharks U19 team. His overseas ventures commenced in 2015 when he joined the France Pro D2 side Montauban. Subsequently, he pursued studies at Lindenwood University in Missouri, USA, from 2016 to 2019.
During his time in the States, Wesley White achieved notable success, winning the Collegiate Rugby Championship twice and training with the USA Eagles sevens team. His stint extended to playing for MLR side Austin Herd. In 2021, he made a significant move to join the Jersey Reds, leaving an immediate impact by scoring a try just three minutes into his first start for the club.
