FICCA, TERRI ANN 47, of Providence Pike, #Smithfield, died Monday, September 24, 2007, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. She was born in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Dolores (Lefebvre) Fica. Smithfield and the late Anthony P. Fica.
She lived in Woonsocket most of her life, graduating from high school in 1978 and rising to first class in 2005. Smithfield moved. She graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation and received a teaching certificate in elementary education from Roger Williams University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education.
An elementary school teacher in the Woonsocket School District and currently teaching third grade at Universal Park School, Miss Fica was loved by her students and colleagues and will be greatly missed. She also worked for Eastern Mountain Sports for many years and was known for conducting outdoor education seminars for the company. In keeping with her adventurous spirit, Terri enjoys camping, kayaking, and hiking, including much of the Appalachian Trail. She was an active volunteer and served as an area Boy Scouts coach, Woonsocket softball coach for 12 years, participated in the Globe Park PTA, and was a member of the Big Sisters of America. She also enjoys golf and her two pets: Talkeetna and Maka.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Christine Bellisler and her husband, Normand, of Spring Hill, Fla., and two brothers of Spring Hill, Fla. Thomas Fica and his wife Ann Marie. Smithfield and Anthony Fica II and his wife Janet of Norfolk. Virginia. “T” was a much loved aunt, nieces and nephews Bethany Leduc, Aimee Kenyon, Gary, Melissa ), Emily, Robert Ficca and Jacob Ficca all survive.
Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main Street, Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Massachusetts. Office hours are Friday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
