“3 years ago, our beautiful daughter Jaimi took her last breath,” she wrote in a long and emotional post.

“We all love you and miss you every day Jaimi and hope you’re at peace.

“It’s been a s*** and sad week, where I’ve needed lots of hugs and am constantly wiping my tears away.

“I tell myself to breathe because I know it’s a bad day, not a bad life.

“I’m doing ok … but feeling sad on the inside while trying to be happy on the outside is overwhelming and feels exhausting.”

Curry said sometimes she looked in the mirror and saw a “mess”, but at other times she saw the “old Lisa”.

“The path to recovery is long and can only be done in my own time,” she continued.

“The last 3 years has been a long, slow, painful, uneventful decline in my health and my soul.

“I talk out loud, frustratingly scolding myself to get my s***together.

“There are days when I don’t care about anything.

“I need to change that talk to be more positive and give myself permission that it’s ok to move forward.

“Moving on doesn’t mean letting go. I will never let her go.”

Lisa Curry shared these images on the third anniversary of her daughter Jaimi’s death.

Curry said she needed to look after herself so she could be the “mother, grannie, wife and friend that I should be”.

She shared a painting of Jaimi by a local artist, Donna Munro, which was finished recently after “2 years of discussion and works”.

“It’s so beautiful and eerily ethereal,” she wrote.

Curry also noted that it was R U OK Day.

“Today, September 14, 2023, it’s also R U OK DAY. Are you ok?” she asked.

“Yes, maybe, sometimes, no??

“Remember to talk to someone.

“Love and strength to everyone who’s struggling for whatever reason.”
