David and Rachel Wakefield, a husband-and-wife coaching team, have been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a student-athlete over a four-year period, causing shockwaves across the close-knit town of Mulino, Oregon. David Wakefield, 60, and Rachel Wakefield, 54, were seized on Wednesday, February 28th, after claims of wrongdoing involving an underage female on the Damascus Christian girls basketball team. The abuse is believed to have occurred between January 2013 and June 2017, during the Wakefields’ tenure as team coaches.
He faces 20 counts of second-degree sexual abuse, while she is charged with 11 counts of the same offense. Both individuals are currently being held at the Clackamas County Jail after being arrested at their Mulino home.
