The al-Qasam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, today released a video featuring Noa Marciano, 19, an alleged Israeli soldier who, they claim, lost her life during Israeli bombings on November 9.

The audiovisual material, shared on the group’s Telegram channel, begins with a message from Marciano on his fourth day of captivity, urging an end to the bombings since those kidnapped “can die.” Later, several photographs of her are presented, apparently lifeless, with a serious head injury and missing a foot.

“You hear a lot of explosions. I and the rest of the hostages could die from the projectiles. Please stop,” reads Marciano in the first part of the video, recorded in an unidentified location according to the al-Qasam Brigades, since only He sees her holding a paper with a group flag in the background.

Shortly before the video was published, Abu Obeida, spokesman for the al-Qasam Brigades, accused Israel of delaying reaching an agreement to exchange Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. According to Obeida, an agreement had been reached through Qatari mediators that was close to being finalized.

“Qatari mediators attempted to free the enemy’s hostages in exchange for the release of 200 Palestinian children and 75 women,” the spokesman said, noting that Israel requested the release of 100 women and children held captive in the Gaza Strip. The mediators proposed a five-day truce for the exchange, but in the end the agreement did not materialize.

“The truce to release several detainees in Gaza includes a ceasefire and allowing aid to enter the Strip, but the enemy is delaying,” Obeida said.

Palestinian militias in Gaza kidnapped more than 240 people on October 7, and are currently holding 239, after having freed four hostages and Israel reportedly rescued a female soldier held captive within the enclave. Last month, Hamas released an American mother and daughter for “humanitarian reasons” and, days later, two elderly Israeli women.
