A 79-year-old woman died Sunday in a three-car crash in north Houston, according to Houston police.
According to police, the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Located at 3601 Tidwell Rd., near the Eastex Highway intersection.
The woman was driving a tan Honda Accord southbound on the Eastex Highway. Authorities said she made a U-turn and failed to control her speed. The Honda hit the curb and hit a maroon Toyota Tacoma traveling east on Tidwell Road. The Honda went airborne, overturned and collided with a black Mercedes Benz traveling east on Tidwell.
The Houston Fire Department pronounced the 79-year-old woman dead at the scene. The Harris County Forensic Science Institute is working to identify the woman.
The other driver was not injured and police are still investigating the accident.
