Director Nalan Kumarasamy, known for his Tamil films Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, last worked as a director in the anthology film Kutty Stories’ Aadal Paadal fragment. According to reports, he will be teaming up with Karthi for his next film, which will be produced by Studio Green.
Now, the producer himself has shared a special post with the director on the set of the film to celebrate his 43rd birthday. The picture shared by the production team is the first official confirmation from the team about the shooting of Karthi’s 26th film.
The photo confirmed that Karthi and Kriti Shetty will star opposite each other in the film directed by Narang Kumarasamy and the actress also presented a gift to the director.
The film, officially titled Vaa Vaathiyarae, reportedly stars Karthi, a huge fan of late actor and politician MG Ramachandran, better known as MGR. Also, the film’s main villain is said to be Baahubali actor Satyaraj, while Raj Kiran plays an important role.
The film’s music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the shooting is currently underway. Release is expected in early 2024.
Karti will be seen in Raju Murugan’s film ‘Japan’. The film tells the story of a notorious thief named Japan who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with the police after he allegedly steals jewelery worth Rs 20 crore. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film stars Anu Emmanuel, Sunil and Jeeson Ramesh in the lead roles.
The film’s music has been composed by award-winning composer GV Prakash Kumar, while Ravi Varman and Philomin Raj are handling the cinematography and editing of the film. The film is expected to release on Diwali this year.
