Comedian Joey Paras passed away; family asking for help
Joey Paras is a Filipino film and theater actor, singer, writer, producer and television host born in Manila. He is also the lead actor in the play “Bawal Tumawid, Nakakamatay” produced by 7th Virgin Labs Excerpt. (Very Low Frequency). His rise to fame began with a scene in the film The Last Supper 3, which won him the MTRCB Award for Best Comedy in 2010 and the Film Malayalam Award for Best Film in 2009. In 2013 he collaborated with Tom Rodriguez in another film, Bekikang: Ang Nanay Kong Beki.
He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Social Communication. Before becoming an actor, he was the lead singer of an Indonesian band. He worked there for several years until the band he was in broke up. 3
He founded a theater group called Philippine Expeditions, an organization for children and teenagers with limited resources to help them realize their dreams of becoming actors.
He debuted as an actor in two television series such as “Maging Sin Ka Man” in 2009 and “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” in 2010, both produced and broadcast by the ABS-CBN television network. Later, he participated in other television series produced and broadcast by “GMA Network” such as “Ikaw Sana” and “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” in 2010. He also hosted a television show with Alas and Ai-Ai. Marian Rivera’s “Domingo PinaSaya” airs on “GMA Network.”
