It has been revealed that an Israeli couple, who were terrified, died while saving their babies as Hamas fighters forcefully entered their home.
Itay and Hadar Berdichevsky hurriedly concealed their infant twins as militants forcefully entered their home during the weekend, in a horrifying series of violent incidents that have resulted in the death of 800 Israelis.
The couple, both 30 years old, had only seconds to respond when their house was invaded and they placed their 10-month-old twins in a concealed shelter. The twins remained there for 12 hours before Israeli soldiers came to their rescue.
According to the Israeli outlet Walla, the couple, who were both 30, were murdered at their home in Kfar Gaza, a kibbutz in southern Israel situated approximately three miles east of Gaza.
Since violence erupted again over the weekend, at least 1,200 people overall have died on both sides of the fight, while intense rocket fire continues.
Hamas fighters were responsible for the surprise attack on Israel, which was captured in harrowing video footage depicting the gunning down of Israeli soldiers after paragliding into the country.
The “worst day” in the history of conflict has been described by Israel’s Defence Forces due to the brutal violence. Following Israel’s counter-attack, numerous Palestinians, including children, have also lost their lives.
