In an interview with The Wrap, the talented actress offered some answers to the unknowns about Warner Brothers’ plans for three new films related to the Joker: Suicide Squad 2, a spin-off focused on the villain and Quinn, and a third film about Batman’s nemesis, produced by Martin Scorsese.
Robbie revealed that, based on the information she was provided, she will return to play Harley Quinn next year, suggesting that the Suicide Squad sequel or spin-off could arrive sooner than anticipated.
“I think next year I’ll be back with a baseball bat. I hope so,” she said. As for the exact date and which movie would be released first, she expressed her own doubts. “Your guesses are as good as mine,” she responded to the reporter’s question.
Meanwhile, the studio has already confirmed the director of the second part of the film that will star Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie. Despite mixed reviews, the box office success has prompted Warner to enthusiastically move forward with production on Suicide Squad 2, ensuring that Gavin O’Connor will direct and write the long-awaited sequel.
