The viral video of 35-year-old Carlisha Hood’s altercation with a guy, which was followed by her son shooting the same man, sparked a discussion regarding who was at fault. On Sunday, June 18, the event took place inside Maxwell Street Express, a restaurant on Chicago’s Far South Side.
Currently, Carlisha and her 14-year-old son are accused in connection with the fatal shooting. Hood and her son have both been charged with first-degree murder, but Chicago police have also accused Hood of coercing a juvenile into killing someone.
Prosecutors claim that Hood and another man got into a verbal altercation inside the restaurant, and that the other guy then hit Hood several times. The kid of Hood was prompted by this to grab his mother’s rifle and shoot the man. Three shots were fired at the individual, who later that night passed away.

Some customers posted a video of the argument in the restaurant line on Twitter. A user using the handle @HelloKennedi shared the video in which the man, identified as Jeremy Brown, is seen punching Hood before a gunshot is fired. The commenter believed that the man received justice.

A few individuals defended Carlisha and her son while others denounced them for encouraging and carrying out a murder. Many said that the 14-year-old simply shot the man in self-defense and to defend his mother. Others, meanwhile, chastised Hood for telling her young boy to shoot and commit a crime.
Some others believed that the mother should not have persisted in her argument with the stranger who ultimately inspired her son to murder. The crime, according to them, could have been prevented.
