A battery case filed against Cardi B has been dismissed. The Bronx musician was charged after launching her microphone at a fan in the audience during a performance in Las Vegas last weekend.
Cardi B was hit with a beer thrown from the crowd, and the entire incident was captured on video from multiple angles.
Following an investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the criminal battery investigation has now been dropped.
Lawyers for the Grammy-winning artist said they had been informed that ‘no charges will be filed against Cardi B as a result of the investigation.’
‘On behalf of Cardi, we appreciate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s diligent and prompt resolution of this matter,’ they continued to TMZ.
Over the weekend, footage of her furiously throwing her microphone at a concertgoer in response to being hit by a flying drink went viral.
The next day, it was reported that a woman had gone to the Las Vegas police to file a complaint, claiming she had been struck by an object thrown from the stage that had been captured on camera.
Cardi’s microphone struck both the beer thrower and another woman standing next to her, according to TMZ at the time. However, it is unknown which of them went to the cops.
The incident is part of a growing trend in which artists have been hit by flying projectiles during their performances, with Bebe Rexha left bruised after a phone struck her in the face while she was performing.
