Beyoncé, the global icon, has released her highly anticipated haircare brand, CÉCRED, following six years of meticulous development. The Houston artist’s company, which debuted on February 20th, promises to transform the haircare industry by offering solutions for all hair types.
The Grammy-winning singer explained her inspiration for inventing CÉCRED, highlighting the need to meet the unique needs of diverse hair textures. “As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else,” Beyoncé expressed, underlining her commitment to inclusivity and excellence.
With a vision to be an “inclusive force of excellence,” Queen Bey seeks to celebrate hair rituals across global cultures and challenge prevalent hair myths and misconceptions. Reflecting on her varied hairstyles throughout her life and career, from natural looks to weaves and wigs, Beyoncé stated, “I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good.”
The opening day marked not just the premiere of CÉCRED, but also an interesting initiative that combines business and philanthropy. Beyoncé announced a partnership between her BEYGOOD organization and CÉCRED, providing $500,000 annually for cosmetology school scholarships and hair salons. The effort will assist communities in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
