RIP, Aaron Spears. You’ve inspired so many musicians to be the best versions of themselves, not only behind their instrument, but with the people around them as well. We’ve always had such an incredible time seeing you radiate your positive energy behind the kit.
Aaron Spears (Washington, D.C.) was born into a musical family and his interest in drums initially stemmed from his involvement in church. As a result of his Pentecostal upbringing, Aaron was instilled with values such as putting the Lord first in his life and a strong determination to inspire and encourage other talented drummers.
Aaron is also a Grammy-nominated music producer, nominated in 2004 for his work on the USHER album Confessions. Aaron’s long touring and recording roster includes: Gideon Band, Chrisette Michelle, Chamilionaire, David Cook, Joanne Rosario, Lil Wayne, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Jordin Sparks, Chaka Khan, Adam Lambert, Israel Houghton, Mary Mary, The Backstreet Boys , Miley Cyrus, Tiziano Ferro, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and most recently Ariana Grande.
Most recently, Aaron has taken his talents to the television production stage. You may have seen him as the house drummer in the pilot episode of NBC’s “Songland,” which premiered in 2019. Aaron also served as music coordinator and drummer for the third season of Fox’s hit TV show The Masked Singer. In addition to touring and the responsibilities behind the production of these major works, Aaron also finds joy in traveling the world and sharing his musical talents through drum workshops, lessons, drum camps and master classes.
