A fresh Black Ops 7 leak has revealed some early details about the game’s campaign, and it appears as if a big feature from Black Ops 6 will be returning.
At the end of Xbox’s Summer Games Fest presentation, Call of Duty popped up with a big surprise, revealing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The two-minute-long trailer was, at times, a bit mind-bending and confusing, but it also showed glimpses of what looks set to come.
After the logo had been revealed, characters can be seen dropping into the long-awaited Avalon map, and there is also one character that appears to be using Active Camo, reappearing after a period of invisibility.
Naturally, details are pretty slim about what is set to come. Activision have confirmed that David Mason is back, the game will be set in 20235, and that multiplayer will have “brand-new maps” instead of just remasters and remakes.
Black Ops 7 campaign leak reveals Safe House return
Some lekas have started filtering out following the announcements, including a set from X (formerly Twitter) user VondyIsPog, who shed some light on the campaign.
“You will be playing as nameless soldiers that are meant to be David’s handpicked Black Ops squad. Characters will be customizable, not much, just to the extent of BOCW and BOIII’s campaign characters,” they said.
“Some missions will occasionally have the party “leader” or “player 1” play as David, and other players as other tbd characters. The safe-house will return, as well as the ability to purchase upgrades to your equipment and gear, albeit with some new additions and features.”
The Safe House featured in Black Ops 6’s campaign as the central hub for the single-player experience. You can launch missions from there, purchase perk-like upgrades for characters, and upgrade weaponry.
It proved a popular twist in Black Ops 6, so its return, with new upgrades, would also be welcomed. We’ll just have to wait and see how things shake out.
