Best Elden Ring Nightreign PC settings: How to get high FPS

Having some issues running Elden Ring Nightreign, but not sure what settings to lower to get your FPS up without making the game look terrible? Here’s a guide on which settings you should be using to get the most out of Nightreign.

Fortunately for many PC players, Nightreign isn’t too difficult to run. Graphics cards as old as the 1060 can get the game started, so if you’ve got a modern-ish PC setup you’ll probably be fine when it comes to running the game.

However, From Software games historically have issues with frame pacing, meaning you’ll want to have the settings a bit lower than you’d think if you want to get a smooth experience without hitches.

Here are the optimal graphics settings for Elden Ring Nightreign to get the best performance you can without making huge sacrifices to graphics quality.

Unlike many other modern titles, Nightreign doesn’t have AI image upscaling like DLSS or FSSR to help you out if your computer’s power is lacking but you’ve got a more modern card with upscaling tech.

As such, honing in on the best settings will have to be done the old-fashioned way: Lowering the settings that don’t have much visual impact and prioritizing the ones that have a big impact on how the game looks.

It can be hard to trial and error this on your own considering that many settings require you to restart the game, so here’s what we’ve found to be the perfect mix of graphical quality and performance.

Before that, though, there’s one key thing to keep in mind. Medium and High graphics settings are the only ones that change anything in the majority of cases. Maximum’s gains over High on most settings are hard to distinguish even on a 4k monitor, and Low settings don’t give much of a performance boost. No matter your rig, bouncing between High and Medium is for the best.

  • Texture Quality: High
    • Medium is such a big downgrade that you won’t want to reduce it to that setting unless you have to. Max has minimal benefits even in 4k, so high is the best all around.
  • Antialiasing Quality: High or Off
    • Low quality looks extremely blurry, either leave this setting on high or off.
  • SSAO: High
    • SSAO on high looks so much better than medium for very little performance cost.
  • Depth of Field: Personal preference
  • Motion Blur: Personal preference
  • Shadow Quality: Medium or High
    • High looks significantly better but Medium takes a lot of stress off your computer. If you’re struggling with FPS, this is a good setting to lower.
  • Lighting Quality: High
  • Effects Quality: Medium
    • This is great to set to medium even if you’ve got a great PC, makes the game easier to see without looking super basic like low.
  • Volumetric Lighting Quality: Low or Maximum
    • This is the one setting where max matters, anything lower has a lot of dithering. Either put it low for performance or max it out for visuals.
  • Reflection Quality: Low or Maximum
  • Water Surface Quality: Low
    • This is rarely a factor and your game will run better with it on low, don’t go for high unless your game is running buttery smooth.
  • Shader Quality: High
    • The game looks much better with Shaders on high, keep it here unless you really need more frames.
  • Global Illumination Quality: High
    • Nightreign is all about lighting and art direction over raw fidelity, leaving this setting on high makes the game’s best moments look a lot better.
  • Grass Quality: Medium
    • Unless you have a big ceiling on performance, don’t go above medium. This setting makes almost no difference.

That’s our guide to the best Elden Ring Nightreign PC settings. Everyone’s rig is different and you may want to tweak to your own preferences, or just hit max settings on everything if you’ve got a great GPU.
