Summer Game Fest has revealed two brand new upcoming Mundfish Studio games, both set in the Atomic Heart universe, with one shaping up to be an MMO RPG.
Atomic Heart was released in 2023 to huge fanfare, quickly establishing itself as a stellar first-person shooter, selling more than 10 million copies. Naturally, many were quick to request a sequel.
Now, just two years later, their prayers were answered. During Summer Game Fest, Mundfish Studio revealed that the adventure will be getting a sequel, once again focusing on the action-adventure style gameplay with strong narrative and RPG elements.
As per usual, it’s filled with bizarre enemies, over-the-top action, and what looks to be a wider open world, though that’s yet to be fully confirmed. During the trailer, we saw the familiar utopian world mixed with the dystopian land full of chaos, danger, and all the best aspects we saw in the original Atomic Heart.
What it will consist of in its story and overarching gameplay is yet to be seen. Atomic Heart 2 will be coming to PC and Consoles, though no release date has been set as of yet.
Mundfish Studio reveals a brand new Atomic Heart MMO
In another shock reveal at Summer Game Fest, it was revealed that a second Atomic Heart title is on the horizon, this time boasting an MMO.
The MMO, otherwise known as The Cube, will be set in the Atomic Heart universe and seems like it’ll take inspiration from extraction shooters, filled with action, exploration, and an ever-rotating and likely ever-changing landscape from The Cube.
There seems to be an overarching mystery surrounding The Cube’s arrival and what this means, so it suggests there will be a crossover storyline alongside the MMO-style gameplay.
Similar to Atomic Heart 2, there’s no release date yet. However, we do know it’ll be available on PC and consoles.
