Danny Boyle has revealed he was planning to set his now axed James Bond movie in Russia.
The director was set to helm Daniel Craig‘s closing outing as 007 earlier than departing the mission attributable to ‘inventive variations’ with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Speaking to Esquire UK, the Oscar winner, 65, mentioned that his proposed story was set in the now controversial nation and explored Bond’s origins.

The Slumdog Millionaire director went on to inform the outlet how he felt it was a ‘disgrace’ that he did not get to make a Bond movie, claiming there was a lack of ‘confidence’ over his plot concept.
He mentioned: ‘It was set in present-day Russia and went again to his origins, they usually simply misplaced, what is the phrase… they only misplaced confidence in it. It was a disgrace actually.’
