Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya is beyond smitten by a lady mechanic who was able to fix his car.

Sharing a video on his Instagram page, the lawmaker, who has been on a quest to find his better half, couldn’t hide his fascination as he watched her work her magic.

Salasya admitted that he had doubts when he first saw the lady, unsure if she could tackle the job.

“You see, being a woman is not a disability. Juu umesaidia gari yangu, leo mimi nakulinda vizuri. Utakula vizuri,” Salasya promised the lady a fat tip.

The video captured Salasya’s disbelief turning into admiration as the mechanic tackled the car repairs with skill.

“I’m so impressed with this girl. Imagine she is so focused and she could fix my breakpads so well. Indeed, what a man can a woman can do better,” he captioned the video.

Love hunt

Salasya has faced challenges in the dating scene during his long quest for a life partner.

For weeks, he made headlines for publicly wooing Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe. Unfortunately for the MP, Huddah didn’t reciprocate his affection. The exchange quickly escalated into an online feud, with both parties trading barbs on social media.

His search for love hasn’t been without previous high-profile attempts either. In 2022, Salasya famously showed interest in content creator Azziad Nasenya, but his advances were gracefully declined. Although some women have since openly pursued him, he turned them down.

Recently, Salasya shared why he’s still single. He revealed that he’s searching for a wife who is both busy and submissive but hasn’t found someone who fits that description in his current dating pool. According to him, many women in Nairobi prefer city life, while he desires a partner willing to live in the countryside.

Someone even suggested that he marry a teacher or banker, believing their busy lives would minimize stress.

“The issue with finding a wife, and this is something girls need to understand; the Bible says submission is key. It’s Biblical, it’s spiritual; you should be submissive,” Salasya explained.

“It’s very hard for me to find someone because girls nowadays want to stay in Nairobi, but I want someone who can live in the village. Someone advised me to get a teacher or banker—someone busy so they won’t bring me stress.”
