A viral video of Kasper Schmeichel performing “The Danish Catch” left some fans impressed and others confused.
Schmeichel started all three group matches as Denmark secured their place in the last 16 of Euro 2024.
The Danes drew all three matches and finished second in Group C behind England.
Schmeichel kept a clean sheet against Serbia on Tuesday, but it was a moment during the warm-up when fans sang his praises.
The Danish Catch is a technique that Schmeichel has used throughout his career and is synonymous with his home country.

As the ball travels toward him, Schmeichel sits up and raises his hands to his chin, tucking his elbows in before letting the ball touch his chest.
The placement of his arms creates a barrier and holds the ball securely.
It’s hard to see exactly what’s happening in real time, but a slow-motion close-up clip has gotten a lot of attention on social media.
“I’ve watched this many times and still don’t understand how,” one wrote, while another said “what’s the deal with the technology.”
Denmark will have to overcome the odds if they want to progress at Euro 2024 after drawing with hosts Germany on Saturday.
