Tanzanian musician Harmonize has finally addressed his recent breakup with Jacqueline Obed, popularly known as Poshy Queen, following weeks of speculation.
In an emotional Instagram post on Friday, October 11, 2024, the Bongo Flava artist explained his silence and expressed his feelings about the end of their relationship.
In his post, Harmonize acknowledged the public interest surrounding his relationship with Poshy Queen but shared that he had been cautious about speaking out due to concerns about misinterpretation.
He wrote, “Naliona kila neno linalo zungumzwa kuhusu mahusiano yangu. Trust me i am not proud. On God, siwezi kukificha nilicho kiweka public!! Ukimya wangu unachangizwa na kuhofia kauli yoyote ikaibua mitazamo mbali mbali!!! Heshima yangu kwa familia yake ni kubwa saaana.”
Harmonize further confirmed that their relationship was officially over, stating, “Hatuko Pamoja for good. Ifike mahala tunatakiwa kufahamu kila linalotokewa limepangwa na Mungu!!”
He explained that everything happens according to a divine plan, encouraging his followers to accept the breakup, adding, “Kama sio waumini sana basi tusikilize hata maneno kabisa!!”
The artiste concluded his post by requesting privacy and time for personal reflection.
He wrote, “Naomba nisihusishwe kimahusiano na yeyote kwa sasa I need time to take care of me. Kujifunza Zaidi nijue wapi nakosea nini niongeze,” indicating that he was not ready to engage in any new relationships and needed space to focus on himself and his personal growth.
Harmonize and Poshy Queen’s on-and-off relationship has been the subject of much public interest since the Bongo Flava singer introduced her as his girlfriend in January 2024.
At the time, Harmonize made a public declaration of love, stating in a social media post: “TODAY WITH TANZANIA MOST TALKED ABOUT 2024 @poshyqueeen FORGET ABOUT THAT BIG SOUND WE ARE VIBING 🥲 CAN I PUT HER ON 1 OF MY VIDEO ?? OR JUS MARRY HER 😂😂😂 KAMA WANAVYODHANIA!!!! CONGRATS BRO @marioo_tz #AWAY 💿 NUMBER ONE RECORD IN THE GAME 2024 🔝.”
However, their relationship faced public scrutiny, and shortly after Valentine’s Day, the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram following a romantic dinner date. This sparked rumours of a breakup, although they later reconciled.
After the brief fallout, Harmonize publicly reaffirmed his love for Poshy Queen in a touching post.
“Da Jaqueline thank you if I say I should write here I will not finish I just want the whole world to know that I love you so much!!!” Harmonize wrote in part, adding that despite the challenges in their relationship, particularly due to their age difference, he was confident that they could overcome them with faith.
“Love you so so much, I am sure our journey will not be easy considering our age but I believe if we put God first, when we pray there is nothing impossible. I just insist you stand with me till the end,” he added.
This latest breakup between Harmonize and Poshy Queen appears to be final, with the musician stating clearly that they are not getting back together.
Harmonize’s love life
The end of this relationship comes after a tumultuous series of public and private ups and downs that have characterized the Bongo star’s love life.
Before dating Poshy Queen, Harmonize had a highly publicized on-and-off relationship with Fridah Kajala Masanja, a Tanzanian actress.
Harmonize officially introduced Kajala as his girlfriend to the public in February 2021 and two months later in April they had already broken up because of his infidelity.
The Bongo singer ruined his relationship with Kajala after he seduced her daughter Paula.
Kajala was forced to dump Harmonize in April 2021 when she caught him sending her daughter Paula inappropriate photos, leading Kajala to end the relationship.
Kajala blocked Harmonize on all platforms after the incident and for a year they both moved on with their lives until the Bongo singer launched a bid to reconcile and win her back.
Harmonize started pleading with Kajala to get back together with him after he broke up with his Australian girlfriend Brianna Jai in early March 2022.
He pleaded with Kajala repeatedly to take him back in vain. The Bongo singer spent a lot of money to woo Kajala – he erected giant billboards which had photos of him and Kajala across Dar es Salaam and also bought her expensive gifts.
Kajala ultimately forgave and accepted Harmonize back after he bought her the two Range Rover Evoques.
Harmonize and Fridah Kajala got back together in June 2022 – two months after the singer desperately pleaded with her to take him back.
The Bongo singer didn’t waste time after his reunion with Kajala, he quickly went down on his knee and asked for her hand in marriage in a glamourous event held in Dar es Salaam on June 24, 2022.
The Tanzanian musician proposed to Kajala in a colourful ceremony that was attended by a handful of people.
However, Harmonize and Kajala’s reunion didn’t stand the test of time, they broke up for good in December 2022.
Sarah Michelloti
Before Kajala, Harmonize had been married to Italian model Sarah Michelloti.
The two started dating in 2017 after Harmonize broke up with his longtime on/off ex-lover Jacqueline Wolper.
Sarah and Harmonize had their ups and downs in their relationship, but they overcame many challenges to soldier on with their love lives.
In April 2019, Harmonize went down on his knees and asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage. He proposed to her while they were in Italy in the presence of her family.
The two ultimately got married in September 2019 but a year later in December 2020 they broke up and got embroiled in a nasty divorce in 2021.
Despite these past relationships, Harmonize now appears to be focusing on personal growth and taking time for himself following the end of his relationship with Poshy Queen. As his Instagram post suggests, the Bongo star is seeking healing and introspection after the turbulent events in his love life.
