After months of speculations that their friendship had hit a rocky patch, Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia and her bestie Milly Chebby have unfollowed each other on Instagram setting social media abuzz.
Jackie shared a cryptic TikTok video seemingly aimed at her former bestie, addressing the unfollowing: “Did you really unfollow me, b*tch relax, it’s just Instagram, yes I unfollowed you.”
Chebby, when responding to a fan’s inquiry about the unfollowing innocently claimed that she was not aware that she had been unfollowed.
“Gai, mko serious, ndo naskia na nyinyi, acha I go and confirm, it’s called seasons of life, it’s very normal, it’s well,” she wrote.
The two, known for their long-standing friendship, have attended each other’s events and made public appearances together, previously referring to one another as siblings.
However, subtle signs of strain in their relationship became apparent through minimal interactions noticed by keen-eyed netizens.
The situation escalated when Chebby started missing out on Matubia’s events and parties, reciprocated by Matubia’s absence from Chebby’s gatherings, signalling a potential rift in their once close-knit friendship.
Strained friendship?
A few days back, following her absence from Milly’s traditional wedding, Matubia faced queries from fans regarding her nonattendance at the event, which hosted close friends and fellow content creators.
“Why do I need to defend myself when they’ve already labelled me as having a bad heart and not having a husband?” Matubia remarked.
Meanwhile, netizens flooded Chebby’s social media pages as she shared snapshots from her own traditional wedding ceremony.
“Hey Chebby, where’s your friend? We miss seeing you both together @jmatubia,” a follower inquired.
In reply, the influencer expressed herself with a series of sigh emojis.
