Texas state troopers arrested numerous illegal immigrants near the U.S.-Mexico border. The operation in Eagle Pass led to the apprehension of 101 individuals, including 25 unaccompanied children.
Lt. Chris Olivarez from the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the arrests. Among those apprehended, 29 faced charges for criminal trespass. The group of unaccompanied children ranged in age from three to 15.
The arrested individuals originated from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, El Salvador, Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Brazil. They were transported to the Val Verde Center Processing center. The U.S. Border Patrol took over the cases of family groups and unaccompanied children.
