Anonymous Jets player slams ‘selfish stars’ in furious outburst after Robert Saleh was fired as coach

Following Robert Saleh’s shocker on Tuesday, an anonymous Jets player has criticized the team’s “selfish stars” in an attempt to expose some of the franchise’s behind-closed-doors problems.

The unknown player has stated that the Jets are not united in the locker room, and that not all of the team’s problems fall at Saleh’s feet.

New York is 2-3 with a tough offense despite having four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.

Jets owner Woody Johnson seemingly made the move to take advantage of the time the team has left this season. Yet there seem to be more obstacles than just a coach.

“I have tremendous respect for coach Saleh and I’m sad he was fired because he did everything he could to get the best out of this team,” the Jets star said. The sun.

‘The responsibility for the bad start also lies with us, the players, because we haven’t found the best chemistry yet, and some guys who are stars are too selfish and don’t want to put their ego aside. for the sake of the team.’

‘It’s quite embarrassing. Some players can’t even look at themselves in the mirror. We have to do better as soon as possible, otherwise we will hit a wall and the consequences will be very disappointing for all of us, the board and especially the fans.’

There are no further indications as to which of the 53 full-time Jets players could speak anonymously to the press.

Johnson felt the pressure to win now with limited opportunity for the 40-year-old Rodgers at quarterback.

“This morning I informed Robert Saleh that he will no longer serve as Head Coach of the Jets,” Jets owner Woody Johnson confirmed in a statement on Tuesday. ‘I thanked him for his hard work over the past three and a half years and wished him and his family a good future.

“This was not an easy decision, but we are not yet where our expectations should be, and I believe this is the best time for us to move in a different direction.”

Johnson also made the move on his own, neither contacting Rodgers before firing Saleh nor telling him about the move before arriving at team headquarters.

Rodgers met with Johnson after hearing the news that Saleh was given the pink slip.

Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Rodgers has stated on multiple occasions that he likes Saleh, with every power play getting his coach fired.

Saleh reportedly considered firing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, the controversial former head coach of the Broncos, before being fired himself.

Ulbrich will lead the Jets into their next game against the Buffalo Bills, hoping to unify the locker room and make a push toward the playoffs.
