Lawyer and activist Morara Kebaso has revealed that he received intelligence of a plot to arrest him in connection to his attack at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday, October 4 during the public participation exercise on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment motion.
Kebaso revealed this in a video posted on his X platform on Monday, October 7, alleging that he was to be blamed for the whole chaotic incident despite being the main victim and gaining access to the venue with just one other member of his team.
Having incurred injuries as a result of the attack, he decided to switch hospitals from the one he was admitted to, as soon as it emerged the facility he was being treated at but decided to pass by the office to pick something.
However, he decided to leave his phones in case he was being tracked but no one came to the office to arrest him, a matter he attributed to a mole planted in his circles whom he believes had confirmed he was not there.

The mole, he claimed, was planted by the National Intelligent Service (NIS), raising eyebrows over the claim he made based on a series of unusual occurrences. “In my team, the NIS placed a mole a long time ago. This is the truth. I have a mole in my team,” Kebaso narrated.
His conclusion, he revealed, came after experiencing several suspicious activities including his car accident that happened in Embu a few weeks ago, and on that, he recalled that despite initially dismissing claims that the accident had been planned, a background check on the affected vehicle made him change his mind.
“Kenyans were right to be suspicious and I was wrong not to be because the car involved in the accident was not owned by an individual but by a company and when you search the CR12 for that company and you check the company director it’s a dead end. The driver is someone we have looked for but haven’t found him to date,” Kebaso said.
Regarding his dramatic arrest on September 30, he expressed suspicions that he raised, revealing that a phone call had been made from his headquarters to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirming his presence at the office.
“Someone was called here and asked if the boss was in. After that, he called the DCI. When DCI came to this office for an arrest, they didn’t guess. They didn’t look for my office. Remember this compound is so big with so many offices. They came straight to my office as if they already had the plan and layout of the office,” he noted.
He also explained the coincidence that the mole is completely absent whenever bad things happen to him, and this would repeat itself during the Bomas attack.
“This person is a very close member of my team and should have been at Bomas because if I’m going to Bomas then my team is also going. Why would he miss and he lives near Bomas? Why did he come to my office where I wasn’t instead of Bomas where I was?” he questioned.
He also added that there had been an attempt to poison his food but his suspicions which prompted him to carry out a background check on the suspect had saved him. However, those background checks had turned up nothing, a sign that the suspect’s history may have been deleted entirely. “If I wouldn’t have known that we have a mole, I think by now I would be dead,” he stated.
Due to these several suspicious incidents, Kebaso said that he was ready to take Kenyans’ concerns over his security seriously and would vet every member of the team intensely. However, the expensive nature of the private security meant that Morara would need to seek financial help from Kenyans again to ensure his safety, fearing for his life this time round.
Nonetheless, he urged Kenyans to continue informing him of their suspicions about any of the members of his team or anything else and he would take them seriously going forward.
