Dundee midfielder Mo Sylla is ‘responsive’ in hospital after collapsing at half-time during a Scottish Premier League match.

The French midfielder was in the starting line-up when the Dees faced Aberdeen at Dens Park on Saturday.

With the hosts trailing 2–1 at half-time, Sylla fell ill in the dressing room and collapsed. She had to be treated by medical staff before being taken to hospital.

The restart was postponed after the incident and Josh Mulligan replaced the 30-year-old for the second half.

After the match, Dundee boss Tony Docherty gave an update on his player’s condition.

“He’s responding in the moment. It wasn’t nice to see.’ Docherty said.

‘It was Mo’s turn during half time. The medics were involved and we had to get the players out of there.

‘He responds. He is now in hospital. We just have to assess that and see how he does this weekend.”

Dundee have now won just one of their opening six games of the season and currently sit eighth in the Scottish Premier League.

Sylla joined Dundee from Hartlepool last summer and has made 36 appearances in all competitions for the club.

The midfielder previously played for Entente and Laval in his native France and English clubs Oldham Athletic and Aldershot.
