Shanina Shaik flaunts her svelte physique in a knitted nude mini dress as she and Amelia Gray Hamlin head to the Fendi Show to kick off Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week’s spring/summer 2024 runway show kicked off in style on Tuesday, with some of the fashion industry’s biggest names flocking to the Fendi Show to preview the latest collection.

Shanina Shaika was the big star among the glamorous ladies, showing off her famous model body in a tight, nude mini dress, paired with black leather over-the-knee boots.

The Australian fashion star showed off her chic sense of style in the figure-hugging knitted mini dress, which featured a ruched neckline, and completed her look with a matching taupe bag.

Amelia Gray Hamlin also showed off her casual fashion sense in a white crop top, paired with an oversized black jacket.

Milan Fashion Week takes place from Tuesday 17 September to Monday 23 September and includes a total of 57 shows and 69 presentations.

Some of the biggest names in the industry are expected to show their latest looks, including Prada, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Emporio Armani and Versace.

Notable absentees include Giorgio Armani, who instead presented their latest line in New York, and Tom Ford, who will hold a presentation instead of a show, following the departure of Peter Hawkings and in preparation for the debut of new creative director Haider Ackermann in the fall/winter 2025 collection.

Speaking about the upcoming series of shows, Vogue Italia contributor Giorgia Feroldi Vogue Affairs: ‘When you’re in Milan during fashion week, you never have much time to rest and process what you’ve seen. It’s always the busiest schedule of the “big four”.’

“But with fewer big debuts on the horizon and an extra day in the schedule to seek some relief, the mood feels a little more relaxed compared to other seasons. I hope this can benefit younger designers.”

Moschino’s Adrian Appiolaza presents his second womenswear collection for the fashion house, following a well-received menswear show in June.

Brigitte Chartrand, VP of Womenswear Buying at Ssense, provided insight into some key trends expected to play a major role in Italy.

She said: ‘Our SS25 buying will take shape as we progress, but we will always be prepared with insights from the past season, for example cool micro trends that we think more designers will pick up on next season.

“What does that mean for spring? We’re looking for pieces that are playful yet feminine; think contrasting materials, layering, translucency, embroidery and embellishments.

‘On the other hand, we’re also looking for a stronger, more powerful, boyish look and we hope to see a lot of ties.’
