What happened to Amber Frey? Inside the new life of Scott Peterson’s ‘hot blonde sweetie mistress with the baby voice’ after Netflix’s American Murder: Laci Peterson is released

Scott Peterson’s former mistress Amber Frey plays a key role in the new Netflix documentary American Murder: Laci Peterson.

Frey, a massage therapist from Fresno, California, was Scott’s mistress unknowingly for weeks before he murdered his heavily pregnant wife, Laci, on December 24, 2002.

She was seen by prosecutors as a motivating factor for Scott to commit the double murder of Laci and his unborn son Conner.

Frey, 49, helped California police secretly gather evidence against Scott by recording conversations with him and was the key witness in his murder trial.

After Scott was found guilty on two counts of murdering Laci and his son Conner, he was sentenced to death by lethal injection in 2004.

The California Supreme Court overturned his death sentence in 2020.

Since the murder case that gripped the world, Frey has kept a low profile and still lives in Fresno, California.

According to US police, she married Robert Hernandez in 2006. Yeahand two years later they divorced.

Amber has two children, daughter Ayiana and son Justin, with an unknown partner. They were born before her relationship with Peterson.

In 2007, Frey opened a day spa in a suburb of Fresno.

She likes to stay fit and active and has a public Instagram page, where she regularly shares photos of herself to train.

She later described her experiences with the wife killer in the 2005 book Witness, in which she described how she became romantically involved with Scott and later helped police arrest him.

The blonde beauty reportedly felt uncomfortable with the level of fame she received after the trial and did everything she could to return to a relatively normal life.

Frey told the US Today Show in 2015 that her decision to help police arrest Scott changed her life forever, but that she had no regrets.

“I’m still very recognizable, it never went away in that sense. It changed my life. My children’s life,” Frey began.

“I don’t regret anything. As crazy as it sounds, I would do it again. It wasn’t about me. There’s a missing woman carrying a child. If I had something to say, it would help, yes, without a doubt.”

Frey recently returned to the public eye when she appeared in two episodes of the Netflix documentary American Murder: Laci Peterson, in which she discussed her experiences with Scott.

She cunningly maintained their relationship while helping police track him down as a suspect in the chilling murder case.

Peterson had been married to Laci for five years when she disappeared on December 24, 2002, after walking their dog.

Frey, who was a single mother of a young daughter at the time, said she had just finished school in California when one of her friends told her about a “handsome boy” who wanted to meet “the one.” He introduced her to Peterson.

Speaking about the new Netflix series, Amber said of her blossoming new relationship with Scott: ‘We started chatting on the phone. I thought he was handsome, he had a really nice smile, he had a good head on his shoulders.’

During their courtship, which she says began sometime in November 2002, Amber asked Scott if he had ever been married. He said no.

When asked if he wanted children in the future, Amber said her own daughter Ayiana “would be enough.”
