Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown will be out of Monday’s game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons due to a new hamstring injury.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Brown had been downgraded.

The 27-year-old made a surprise appearance on the injury report on Friday and was only present for a limited time at the last two training sessions.

“It was a little tense yesterday in practice,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said Saturday morning. “We’ll see how it goes.”

Brown had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 6 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Brown was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and has 384 receptions for 6,066 yards and 43 touchdowns in 78 career games (70 as a starter) with the Tennessee Titans (2019-21) and Eagles.

DeVonta Smith and newcomer Jahan Dotson would face increased workloads if Brown were to sit out or be limited against the Falcons (0-1).

“That guy is being judged unfairly because he’s not getting the opportunities that other guys are getting,” Sirianni said of Dotson. “I feel really good about Jahan. I mean, first-round pick, obviously, we traded him and feel really good about him.

“He’s a smooth route runner, all that stuff. I just think that position (the No. 3 receiver in the offense) gets unfairly judged sometimes, just because they don’t get the opportunities that these other guys do.”
