“I will look for Mr Kinyua, the owner of the school, to see how we can help,” the President stated.

“After investigations are concluded, we will see how we will be able to help that school so that it continues providing education to our children.”

At the same time, Ruto announced that he donated Ksh2 million to facilitate the buying of items for those whose things were burnt in the inferno.

“The Governor has told me that almost 140 students lost their items following the dormitory fire. Therefore Wainaina (Kieni MP) you are our handyman on the ground, so I will send you again today with Ksh2 million you buy for those whose property was destroyed in the fire new items so that they can go back to school,” Ruto stated.

The Ksh2 million will be used to buy new boxes, school uniforms, and other items that were burnt during the night inferno.

“We will arrange for the burial of the children who lost their lives together with their parents,” the President further offered while condoling with the families who lost their loved ones.

His sentiments come as parents whose children are still missing were asked to present themselves at the Naromoru Level Four hospital mortuary for the process of body identification.

Different government officials led by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki announced that the process would help bring closure to some of the parents.

Meanwhile, investigations into the fire tragedy have not yet zeroed in on the real cause of the inferno after Kenya Power ruled out an electrical fault as the cause.

According to Nyeri Kenya Power business manager Duncan Machuka, comprehensive investigations of the school power connections established that the cause of the fire was elsewhere.

“Based on the findings of the preliminary analysis of our protection system, from the metre box to the substation where the medium voltage line serving the school emanates from, we have ascertained there was no link between the cause of the fire and any fault on our network as alleged in sections of media reports,” Machuka stated.

“The company will continue to work collaboratively with other investigating agencies to establish the cause of the fire.”
