Holly Willoughby gazes lovingly at her husband Dan Baldwin as they hold hands during rare joint appearance at the NTAs following red carpet return

Holly Willoughby was spotted in the audience with her husband Dan Baldwin at the National Television Awards on Wednesday, where they put on a loving show.

The couple, who have been married since 2007, made their first appearance together at the awards ceremony when the former This Morning presenter made her red carpet comeback.

Holly, 43, disappeared from the spotlight last year after receiving kidnap and murder threats, prompting her to quit her job at the ITV daytime show.

Although she returned to the spotlight in the new year thanks to her role in Dancing On Ice, she has largely kept a low profile since then.

It was Holly’s first time appearing at a red carpet event, where she was supported by her producer husband.

Holly, who looked stunning in a £30,000 black, glittering dress, sat next to Dan, 49, as they watched the ceremony together, surrounded by a star-studded audience.

The TV presenter placed a comforting hand on her husband’s leg and also held his hand during the awards ceremony.

Earlier in the evening, Holly joined her This Morning successors Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on the red carpet at the 02 Arena.

The presenter left the ITV morning show in October last year, but her replacements Cat and Ben were finally hired in March.

Holly sparkled in a glittering strapless silver and black dress by luxury couture brand Kolchagov Barba, featuring a high leg slit.

During the evening, Holly proved she’s back in the game with This Morning as she posed with some of her former co-stars.

The TV presenter, who co-headquartered This Morning for 14 years, beamed as she posed for a photo with regular This Morning presenters Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes.

Rochelle wrapped her arms around Holly, along with Davina McCall, while fellow This Morning stars Dermot O’Leary and Ashley James were also present in the picture.

On the red carpet, Holly kissed Dermot and laughed with Alison as the group reunited.

As the ceremony began, Ant and Dec were presented with the Best Presenter award for a record 23rd time, leading the big winners.

As Ant and Dec continued their record-breaking winning streak, it was Mr. Bates Vs. The Post Office that emerged as the night’s big champions, taking home three prizes.

Toby Jones won the award for Best Drama Series Performance for his critically acclaimed performance in the series.

In his speech, the actor congratulated real-life Post Office campaigner Sir Alan Bates after he married his long-term partner Susanne on Richard Branson’s private island last weekend.

He added: ‘This is an extraordinary project, brilliantly commissioned, directed with flair and featuring the finest actors I could ever hope to work with. I feel truly honoured.’

Mr Bates vs The Post Office once again focused the public’s attention on the postmasters who were wrongly prosecuted during the Horizon IT scandal, which was recognised later in the evening with the presentation of the Impact Award.

Despite a year of scandal and controversy, Strictly Come Dancing won the award for best talent show at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night.

Amid concerns over the show’s future following allegations of abuse against professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima, the BBC show beat Britain’s Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off, Masterchef and The Voice to win one of the night’s big prizes.

The NTAs are voted for by the public, and Strictly’s win is a clear sign that viewers are still behind the show, which is gearing up to return for its 20th series on Saturday night.
