Law Society of Kenya President Eric Theuri has taken on the head of state President William Ruto head on after the President made a chilling threat to rogue Sugar cartels in a fiery speech in Bungoma yesterday.
The Law Society of Kenya President has declassified the chilling remarks made by the head of state as a threat to right to life, a threat to access to justice and right to seek Judicial intervention and lastly a threat to the independence of the judiciary.
Theuri says that the statement made by Ruto explains the recent abductions and sends a strong signal of the return of extrajudicial interventions.
Ruto yesterday told rogue sugar cartels that they had only 3 options. Either they are to leave Kenya, he sends them to jail or they ‘fly to heaven.’
The chilling remarks by the head of state was a warning to the rogue cartels frustrating the sugar industry.
The warning had come only few hours after sugar mogul Jaswant Singh Rai was dramatically kidnapped in Kilimani area in broad daylight. He would later be released without harm.
