Demi Lovato recalled a painful childhood memory in the new Hulu documentary Child Star, premiering September 17.

In a trailer for the upcoming documentary, the 32-year-old Disney alum claimed that some of her former classmates signed a “suicide petition” telling her to “kill herself.”

She did not name the “popular girls” who she said drove her to suicide.

The film, Lovato’s directorial debut, was co-directed by The 12th Victim director Nicola Marsh.

Raven-Symoné, Christina Ricci, Alyson Stoner and Kenan Thompson also opened up about their struggles as young actors on Child Star.

Lovato, who opened up about her history of drug use and abuse that started at a young age in the 2021 documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, now appears to be making amends as she speaks to former coworkers.

“When we first got on the phone, you always said, ‘I was on your show,’” the La La Land singer told Symoné (38), admitting, “I can’t even remember what I was on.”

The MTV Music Video Award winner also convinced her Camp Rock co-star Alyson Stoner, 31, to take part in the project.

The two had not been in touch for years and Lovato agreed to sit down with Stoner for a “healing” conversation before appearing on camera, according to The Hollywood reporter.

“I remember feeling like I was walking on eggshells,” Stoner said in the trailer.

“I’m really, really sorry,” Lovato responded.

Of that period in her life, Lovato told THR, “I think I was beyond the limits of what I could handle emotionally and physically,” which the actress now considers a trauma response.

“And I didn’t realize that being a star as a kid could be traumatic. And it’s not for everyone, but it was for me,” she explained, realizing that her behavior had consequences for others.

“I think of the people in the wardrobe department on my TV show, because I always went there in a bad mood,” she said.

“I’m concerned about the guest stars that came on, the other actors or the people during Camp Rock 2,” she told the network.
