Context

About the Role
The role holder will be responsible for tracking cash flow and payments to vendors and suppliers. They play a critical role in a company’s financial, administrative, and clerical functions, and their work helps a company meet profitability goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accurate and timely booking of invoices, credit notes and supplier payments.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of the supplier accounts, document any reconciling differences and ensure resolution within 30days
- Timely preparation of supplier’s payments as per the payment plans
- Process all relevant tax returns and statutory payments accurately and on time
- Management and monthly reconciliation of VAT 3 including follow-ups on pending VAT claims
- Ensure proper accounting and recording of accounts payable transactions in the general ledger, in accordance with the accounting standards.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly
- Prepare monthly accounts payable (AP) reports
- Implement and maintain proper controls within the accounts payable function to safeguard company resources
- Maintain effective communication and a positive relationship with the suppliers
- Facilitate annual audits related to the accounts payable function
Qualifications and Experience
- Business related undergraduate degree.
- Accounting qualification, CPA Finalist
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills
- Knowledge of accounting standards and taxation regulations
- At least 3-year professional experience in a similar position
