KWARE RESCUERS AND VICTIM FAMILIES FLEE NAIROBI ALLEGING DCI THREATS

Families of Kware murder victims and volunteers who helped retrieve tens of bodies at the dumpsite have been forced to flee the Nairobi.

They allege that they are being threatened by the DCI, adding to their grief and fear.

Volunteers who assisted in the recovery of mutilated female bodies wrapped in sacks and abandoned in a quarry at Mukuru kwa Njenga slums reported receiving threats from the DCI.

Apparently, the DCI warned them that anyone involved in retrieving bodies would be held responsible for the deaths and could face false charges.

A volunteer described the situation, stating, “DCI told us that anyone who retrieves a body will be held accountable and linked to dumping it.”

Kware Victims Families Harrassed

The situation has escalated as family members and rescuers report harassment and intimidation.

Many have abandoned their homes and relocated for safety, citing threatening calls and persistent fears for their lives.

“At the moment I am the only one left in Nairobi as all the rest have fled. We don’t know when they will come for us,” said one family member.

Human rights activists have criticized the police and government for obstructing the investigation and delaying the release of the bodies.

They question why the search for remaining body parts was halted and accuse authorities of trying to prevent the truth from coming out.

The families and volunteers now face uncertainty and fear, with many questioning their safety and whether justice will be served after the main suspect Collins Jumaisi escaped from police custody.
