Daniel Craig returns to his 007 roots as he joins George Clooney at launch party for James Bond’s beloved Aston Martin in Venice

Daniel Craig and George Clooney made an equally elegant impression on Monday evening when they attended the launch of the new Aston Martin Vanquish in Venice.

The two handsome leads both came to the Italian city to present their latest projects at the annual Venice Film Festival.

And during their stay, 56-year-old Daniel got the chance to flex his 007 muscles once again when he attended the event for James Bond’s most beloved sports car brand.

The actor, who said goodbye to the British spy series in 2021 with No Time to Die, looked his signature handsome in a gray linen jacket and white pants.

The movie star left his shirt partially unbuttoned, revealing his muscular chest, and wore tinted aviator sunglasses.

He also continued to sport his long, messy blond hairstyle that he adopted for the upcoming film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which began filming in June.

George, 63, on the other hand, opted for an all-black outfit and looked handsome in a classic smart suit and plain T-shirt as he met Daniel.

The Aston Martin was once described as ‘the most famous car in the world’ thanks to its association with James Bond. Sean Connery first drove it in 1964’s Goldfinger.

Daniel drove a number of Aston Martins during his time as the iconic spy, starting with his debut in Casino Royale (2006) through to his final appearance in 2021, with the DB5 taking a starring role in No Time To Die, which featured the biggest action scene since its debut.

The Munich star will hit the red carpet with his wife Rachel Weisz on Tuesday evening for the premiere of his highly anticipated film Queer.

He is tipped for his first-ever Oscar nomination for his portrayal of American expat and war veteran William Lee in this explicit same-sex drama.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino and based on the semi-autobiographical novella by William Burroughs, Queer centers on William’s romance with a younger man, Eugene Allerton, a drug addict and discharged naval officer.

In the film, Eugene, played by Drew Starkey, initially rejects Lee’s advances, but eventually gives in.

Early reviews suggest that moviegoers will be shocked by the explicit nature of some key moments in the film. One of the most talked about scenes is the one in which Daniel performs oral sex on Eugene, played by Drew.

A source told the Ny Breaking that it was ‘a far cry from Bond and very explicit. Craig is brilliant in the film.’

Venice Film Festival president Alberto Barbera said he thinks Daniel has given “the best performance of his life” in Queer, and he would be surprised if we don’t see the British actor at next year’s Academy Awards.

Alberto also confirmed to a journalist that Daniel “had some sex scenes that were quite intense.”

While acclaimed director Luca noted, “Queer will be my most personal film. It’s a tribute to Powell and Pressburger.

“I’ve seen The Red Shoes at least 50 times and I think they would appreciate the sex scenes in Queer. They’re numerous and quite scandalous.”

Meanwhile, George bid farewell to the film festival on Tuesday, along with his beautiful wife Amal, 46.

The actor and the international human rights lawyer were spotted on Sunday boarding a river taxi to the airport after the premiere of George’s new film Wolfs.

The $200 million Apple TV+ film is set to hit theaters on September 20, but has been panned by critics, who called it a “messy” one-star failure and an “unbearable comedy.”

The Robbie Collin of the Telegraph wrote: ‘George Clooney recently complained that Quentin Tarantino doesn’t consider him a movie star. If he makes more films like this, Clooney will soon prove Tarantino right.’

While, IGN’s Siddhant Adlakha criticized the film as a “slick student film about a rich teenager living on a media diet similar to Guy Ritchie’s of yore.”

He and other critics added that director Jon Watts seemed to have banked on George and Brad achieving stardom to make it a box office hit, with a bland plot and a “half-baked script with little humor or heart.”
