It is bad news for Manchester United that regular tormentor Mo Salah is stronger than ever as he enters the final year of his Anfield contract.
Salah has scored 14 goals in 15 games against United – more than against any other club – and became the first opponent to celebrate a Premier League hat-trick at Old Trafford in 2023 when Liverpool won 5-0.
The 32-year-old Egyptian has started the season in top form, scoring in each of his first two games, and has said he is going to ‘enjoy’ what could be his final 12 months at the club.
“You can see the form he’s in. He’s getting better and better as the years go by in terms of his physical performance and qualities,” said team-mate Andy Robertson.
‘He is a player of big games, his goals and assists speak for themselves and he always shows himself against our rivals.

‘He’s a legend in the Premier League, he certainly is, but I still want to write a few more stories and hopefully he shows that in other big games this season.’

However, under new manager Arne Slot they have not dropped a single point or conceded a goal, while Salah is still the x-factor.
“Obviously he’s our main guy and teams are trying to stop him,” Robertson added.
‘Mo knows when a big game is coming up, but he also sets the standard every day. He is a model professional and if there are kids or anyone else who looks at professionals to model themselves on, then Mohamed Salah is not a bad person to do that.
“He dedicates his life to football.”
Slot has a more controlled playing style than Klopp, who encouraged full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson to get forward at every opportunity.

Robertson added: ‘He [Slot] has left no stone unturned and it is up to us to perform on the weekend’
“So far it’s been an excellent start. Everyone has enjoyed learning a new way of playing and trying to implement the manager’s ideas,” Robertson explained.
‘We still have the freedom to help and overlap our wingers, but defensively we’ve been working on certain things to hopefully become stronger defensively as a unit.
“He has left no stone unturned and it is up to us to perform on the weekend. We have done that so far, but this will be a different test.”
