Donald Trump accuses Kamala Harris of telling shocking lie…as questions grow over VP’s claim about her down-to-earth past

Donald Trump accused Kamala Harris of lying about her work at McDonald’s, a claim that has sparked endless speculation.

Speaking at the Moms for Liberty convention in Washington on Friday, Trump expressed skepticism about this passage from Harris’ biography, in which she proclaims her middle-class background.

“She also said, ‘I worked at McDonald’s.’ Turns out she didn’t work at McDonald’s at all,” the former president told the crowd.

“Did anyone see that?” he continued. “After a thorough investigation that took about 20 minutes, they found out she never worked there.”

Trump’s comments come as questions mount over Harris’ claims.

In April, Harris appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she was asked if she worked at the fast food restaurant.

“I did. Yeah, I worked at McDonald’s,” the vice president said. “When I was in school … I did French fries. And then I worked the cash register.”

Harris reportedly worked at a franchise in California’s Bay Area the summer after her freshman year at Howard University.

However, she did not mention this biographical detail until she ran for president five years ago.

When the future vice president spoke at a labor rally in Las Vegas in 2019, she first referenced her time at the Golden Arches.

“I worked at McDonald’s,” she told the crowd. “I was a student when I worked at McDonald’s.”

Some were skeptical of the claim from the start, noting that Harris had never previously discussed it during her campaign or in her two memoirs.

According to the free beaconIn her 2019 book The Truths We Hold, there is no mention of her time with the Golden Arches, despite the fact that she does include a passage about the jobs she held at the university.

Two biographies about Harris also make no mention of his work at McDonald’s.

Dan Morain, author of Kamala’s Way: An American Life, told the free beacon that he was “unaware” of her work at the fast food restaurant.

Critics also accuse Harris of failing to mention her time at McDonald’s on her resume and cover letter, which she submitted a year after graduating.

In the application for a position as a paralegal with the Alameda County Prosecutor’s Office, the vice president, who was a law student at the time, listed previous jobs.

Although Harris was asked to name every position she has held over the past decade, she did not mention McDonald’s, fueling speculation that the claim is dubious.

However, others have argued that it would not be helpful to reference working at a fast food restaurant in a job application for the district attorney’s office.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the claim has come under fire, given that Harris’ campaign has used it to boost the vice president’s image as a middle-class candidate.

Earlier this month, campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said the Democratic candidate was “the daughter of a working mother and worked at a McDonald’s to pay for her education.”

The daughter of a renowned biomedical scientist and a Stanford economist, Harris has also used her time at the Golden Arches to project a more modest image.

At a campaign rally earlier this month, she called herself and her running mate, Tim Walz, two “middle-class kids,” one of whom had a “summer job at McDonald’s.”

According to PoliticsAn earlier version of a campaign ad even went so far as to claim that Harris was working at the fast food restaurant to “pay for her education.”

However, her co-workers quickly adjusted, as in reality she had taken the summer job to earn some extra money.

But Harris’ time at McDonald’s is also being used to distinguish her from Trump, whom they want to portray as an out-of-touch elite.

Trump grew up the son of a wealthy New York property developer and has never been short of money.

“You know Vice President Harris grew up in a middle-class family and worked shifts at McDonald’s as a college student,” Governor Walz said at the AFSCME conference.

“I keep asking this to create a contrast here,” he continued. “Can you just imagine Donald Trump working at a McDonald’s and trying to make a McFlurry or something.”
