Savvy DoorDash customer reveals how she makes money by getting pizza delivered with extreme hack

One savvy DoorDash user decided to take matters into her own hands after ordering a pizza: she picked up the meal herself and made some money in the process.

The woman described the hack on TikTok, describing how she delivered the order to herself after the app took too long to assign a driver to the job.

Shalom, a DoorDash delivery driver herself, placed the order as a customer and then logged into her work account to accept the order to deliver the food from Papa John’s.

In the clampwhich has been viewed more than two million times since it was posted earlier this month, she shows confirmations of the order and of her acceptance of the job.

After picking up her food, she even gave herself a $2 tip.

Her work statement showed that from the moment she accepted the job, she would earn $11.75 per “active hour,” plus tips.

Shalom also gave herself a “great” five-star rating before sharing how much she enjoyed the meal.

While it may seem like this clever hack is absolutely illegal, there is no official company policy prohibiting DoorDash employees from doing this.

Viewers of the clip said they’ve pulled the same trick on DoorDash, and at least two people claimed they’ve done the same thing to other delivery apps as well.

“I did this on Uber Eats too. I tipped $15 because it was the max, and it was five miles away and I’m in San Francisco,” one commenter wrote.

Another added: ‘I’ve been doing it for years! It’s absolutely not worth the money they pay for what you spend.’

A fan of the technology attempted to explain the math behind making the hack worthwhile.

“It’s best to do it by the hour. If you make it 30-60 minutes, you’re basically getting the food for free,” the commenter wrote.

A DoorDash spokesperson denied the trick, saying it was “nonsense.”

“Let’s be clear – this is not a life hack or a tip, it’s a stunt,” the spokesperson said. “Consumers can already pick up their own orders. This may make sense as content, but it doesn’t make sense in real life if pickup is instant.”
