Irv Gotti suffered a stroke earlier this year, but the hip-hop mogul is now recovering.
The 54-year-old music producer, known for his collaborations with A-listers including Jennifer Lopez and Ashanti, is recovering from a mild stroke six months ago caused by his ongoing battle with diabetes, his representatives said. TMZ on wednesday.
“He has since changed his diet and started eating healthier,” the insider added. “He has been successful in making a full recovery.”
The outlet’s source also refuted Wack100’s claims made earlier this week in his podcast that Irv was in a rehabilitation center, emphasizing that he was “at home with his family and enjoying life.”
Despite this, Wack 100 shared a photo on Instagram which shows Gotti using a cane, which he calls a “walker,” and claims he got information about it from someone at the recovery center.

Wack 100 also noted that Irv “lost a lot of weight” during his reported health crisis.
He also called on his fans to “pray for Irv Gotti.”
Irv has been open about his health issues and has posted about it on the Drinking champions podcast from last year that he still hasn’t managed to get his diabetes under control.
“It’s widespread among black people. What it does is it starts to deteriorate your body,” he explained.
‘I have been diagnosed with diabetes for a long time; it is hereditary.
‘When my [blood sugar] is shot too high [of insulin]. It’s reversible, but you have to change your eating habits — that kind of thing.’
He continued: ‘But you know what’s f*****up with diabetes? So everything that you like or tastes good is terrible for you. And what’s the dirty s***? Broccoli… you should eat some leaves or something.’
Gotti is a prominent music producer and co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, who played a major role in shaping the sound of hip-hop and R&B in the early 2000s.

In 2019, Irv Gotti denied having an affair with Ashanti while he was married to Deb Lorenzo, whom he divorced in 2013.
