Music producer Magix Enga, once a hitmaker with chart-topping songs and a lavish lifestyle, is now sharing his story of a sudden and dramatic downfall.
At the peak of his career, Enga was living large, making money like a commercial bank and equally blowing it up on lavish spending.
His reputation as a talented producer grew rapidly, leading to lucrative deals and collaborations with popular musicians.
However, as his fortunes soared, so did his expenses, and soon the lifestyle that came with fame began to take its toll.
Enga reflected on his past success and downfall while speaking on local docuseries which usually feature well-known personalities in Kenya who received an unexpected windfall and then blew it.
“I wanted to be a star from when I was just a kid,” Magix Enga said, reflecting on his rapid rise to fame and the temptations that came with it.
Enga revealed that his monthly income was once in the hundreds of thousands, thanks to his meteoric rise to be one of the most sought-after music producers in Kenya.
“We were making like 300k to 400k per month,” Enga admitted, as his former aides painted a picture of his downfall, blaming it on excessive spending and a revolving door of women.
“He used to have a lot of women coming into the studio, like different types of women,” one former aide dished.
Another added, “He would have a thought of buying a c*r today, and he would sleep on it the whole night. Then tomorrow, he has it.”
Impoverished life
Fast forward to today, and Magix Enga’s lifestyle is a far cry from his heydays as a music mogul.
The producer first went public with his financial woes in October 2023, asking for assistance from anyone who would listen, including President William Ruto.
“Right now I have a one-month-old baby boy who is depending on me. I tried to pull myself together but the studio I was working was shut down because of rent issues,” Magix Enga lamented.
“Our president Dr. William Samoei Ruto I can urge you to please help me in whatever support you can starting from the music industry to my colleagues,” he added.
Enga’s desperate plea didn’t get the reaction he hoped.
Eric Omondi, who has been leading philanthropic initiatives to help Kenyans in financial distress, refused to assist Enga, citing his ties to the Illuminati.
“I checked, for example, in the case of Magix Enga, there was a time he said he was Illuminati and that he said there was money there. How do I come again and tell Kenyans that this person needs help? Kenyans will not take me seriously when I come with a serious health issue,” Eric Omondi said while speaking on a local TV station.
Magix Enga publicly confessed that he was a member of the dreaded Illuminati in a January 2022 interview.
The music producer claimed that he joined Illuminati at age 23 to gain fame and wealth.
Speaking to a local YouTuber, Magix Enga revealed that he joined the underworld community due to the tough life he was living back at his home.
“Wajua kitambo ilikuwa ni either uende Kanisa ama ufanye venye iko ndio upate pesa. So mimi niliona ‘aish bro! nitaomoka lini? Mashida mtaani bro; sina gari, sina kitu yoyote so ikabidi niingie huko,” he narrated.
Now, as Magix Enga navigates these rough waters, his story serves as a cautionary tale of how fast life in the spotlight can change.
